Vapor Injection Valve Replacement

Note In most cases, only the coil requires replacement. No other repair is possible on solenoid valves.

Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant charge from the unit.

  2. Turn the Unit On/Off switch Off. Disconnect electrical connections to valve coil.

  3. Unsolder liquid line connections to the valve.

  4. Remove the valve from the unit.

Installation

  1. Clean the tubes for soldering.

    • Equipment Damage
    • Use a heat sink or wrap switch with wet rags to prevent damage to new switch.
  2. Place the new valve in position and solder the liquid line connections.

  3. Pressurize the refrigeration system and check for leaks (Refer to Leak Testing Refrigeration System). Repair leak if required.

  4. Recover the refrigerant used for the leak test if no leaks were found.

  5. Evacuate the system (Refer to Evacuation and Cleanup of Refrigeration System).

  6. Recharge the unit with R-404A/R-452A (Refer to Charging System with Refrigerant).

  7. Perform a controller pretrip test to verify system operation.
